I finally paid up ($5) but I was infuriated. This happened multiple more times throughout the week and I believe the man was just harassing me due to my skin color. Not OK.
Great primitive sites, but a little tightly packed. Bring quarters for the shower, but you can find great places to explore if you go a little off the beaten path.
The trashcans were always full of trash and golf cart man never cleaned or checked them
I was here last week with my family camping and fishing (the kids needed a break) and enjoying the beautiful scenery the campground had to offer. I was setting up the rods and kayaks by the boat launch when all of a sudden, a man in a golf cart pulled up and started questioning me and where I had parked my vehicle.
I was confused as it was our 2nd day and everything seemed normal. I explained that our RV was parked at the campground and he told me I had to pay to use the area. I tried to explain that I was a guest here but he didn't listen and threatened to call the police.
Wonderful campground. The Hosts are awesome and very friendly. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that it does not have sewer(honey wagon is available and they do have a dump station) and the 6 min. .50 cent shower is actually a 4 min shower after the water heats up.
The host are very friendly and eager to please clean facilities and when you buy wood they deliver it to your site beautiful scenery great fishing and boat launching. Pictures don't justify the place must see for yourself the natural beauty that otter creek has to offer peaceful and stress free. Can't wait to get back there
If you come in the fall, mainly mid September, there are tons of local Paw Paw fruit trees you can harvest from to try them for yourself. Don't pick many though because they do not keep well and only last a day or so once picked.
This is a local campground for me but we tend to stay here since the KTA Trail Challenge ends here and it makes for a convenient finish and place to shower. The hosts are great and the area is beautiful. We use their lot to do some of the local hikes since there are really nice trails nearby. The lot fee is $5 for the day but that is typical of the local campgrounds for trail use. You do not have that fee if you are camping at the same time.
P. S.
I will not be returning.
